STUDENTS VISIT MILL CREEK FARM

20 students  from I.S. 195 Roberto Clemente School in Harlem, NYC visited Mill Creek Farm during their field trip to Florida.  Keith Robeson, a former volunteer at the farm when he was a student at the University of Florida and now a math teacher at the school, arranged for the students to visit his alma mater and while in the area, to also visit the Retirement Home for Horses.

VISIT FROM THE DENTIST

Dr. Raymond Hyde, a  veterinarian and highly regarded equine dentist from Virginia, along with a group of his equine dental technician students, made his yearly visit to Mill Creek Farm to examine and treat the horses’ teeth.
Regular dental care is important for a horse’s health and neglect of this can result in difficulties with chewing, malnutrition, discomfort and infection.
Horses’ teeth continue to grow and wear, resulting in an increase in dental problems as they age.  Unfortunately, many horse owner’s knowledge about proper equine dental care is limited and the horse suffers as a result.
